Laksa Fried Rice
Fried rice is one of the simplest dishes to cook at home, but extracting flavor out of the humble ingredients to make a mean fried rice takes years to master. We have a hack: a few tablespoons Singaporean Laksa paste brings an instantly big boost of flavor. So fry away!
Laksa Fried Rice

INGREDIENTS
- 1 tbsp vegetable oil, or any other neutral oil
- 4 garlic cloves, minced
- 3 tbsp Homiah Singaporean Laksa Spice Kit (you can also substitute with any of the other Malaysian Red Curry or Indonesian Rendang Kits just as well for slightly different flavor profiles)
- 1 egg
- 4 cups cooked rice, preferably rice cooked the day before and left in the refrigerator overnight
- 1 tbsp soy sauce
- 1 tbsp sesame oil
- 1 stalk scallion, thinly sliced - optional
- 1 Thai red chilli, thinly sliced - optional
METHOD
- Heat up the vegetable oil in a large wok or frying pan over medium heat. Then add in the minced garlic and saute for 2 minutes, stirring often. Add in the Homiah Singaporean Laksa paste, and saute for 1 minute.
- Gently push the garlic and laksa paste away from the center of the wok, and crack the egg into the center, stirring immediately. Cook it for 1 minute until just set.
- Turn the heat up to high, then add in the cooked rice, soy sauce, and sesame oil. Toss and stir until evenly mixed.
- Finally, add in the sliced scallions and chilli, and give it a final toss to combine.
- Transfer the fried rice onto a plate or bowl, and serve immediately!
