WHAT'S THE SPICE LEVEL?
Our spice kits are only mildly spicy, but you’ll feel a bit of heat if you don’t generally eat spicy food. If you’re a spice veteran, feel free to add hot sauce or fresh chillies for a kick.
ARE YOUR PRODUCTS VEGAN? ALLERGEN-FREE?
Our rendang and red curry spice kits are vegan. Our laksa is pescatarian as it contains shrimp paste. All our products are gluten-free, dairy-free, grain-free, soy-free, peanut-free, keto and non-GMO. We do not use coloring and preservatives. We also source quality sunflower oil that is naturally non-GMO, avoiding more common but unhealthy oils like palm oil.
HOW ABOUT SHELF STABLE?
Unopened spice kits can be safely stored at room/ ambient temperatures and have an expiration of up to 1 year from production. Once the spice kits are opened, they should be refrigerated in an airtight container and consumed within 2-3 weeks as we do not use preservatives in our products.
WHAT SORT OF PROTEINS AND VEGETABLES CAN I USE?
Literally anything. The recipes behind each packet recommend a range of options including chicken, beef, shrimp, tofu, seitan, carrots and potatoes. But some of our customers shared that their most satisfying meals from our spice kits were made from leftovers like extra tofu and meat in the fridge or frozen vegetables. You do you!
WHAT’S UP WITH THE COCONUT MILK?
Coconut milk is a staple Southeast Asian cooking ingredient and is recommended with our current line of spice kits, although cream or stock can be used as substitutes. Our coconut milk bundle comes with 6 individual 250 ml cartons to go with the 6 spice kits you’ll receive. We’ve sourced what we think is perhaps the best quality shelf stable Thai coconut milk.
