Our cult-favorite chili crisp is filled with crunchy bits of shallots and chillies for a deeply flavorful and textural condiment. Whether you prefer our classic original sambal or the vegan version, you're guaranteed a new level of explosive umami. Warning: This intensity of funk and flavor is not for the faint of heart! Only mildly spicy.
ORIGINAL: Sunflower Oil, Onion, Dried Shrimp, Garlic, Chili, Salt, Sugar, Monosodium Glutamate.
SEAWEED: Sunflower Oil, Onion, Chili, Seaweed, Chili, Salt, Sugar, Monosodium Glutamate.
Only mildly spicy, although you might feel a bit of heat if you don't generally eat spicy food. This chili crisp is focused more on texture and umami rather than heat.
Our Original version contains shrimp and is not vegan. Our Seaweed version is vegan. Both are gluten-free, soy-free and preservative-free. We use unrefined sugar and naturally non-GMO high oleic sunflower oil in our products.
Yes, these are shelf stable when unopened. Once opened, we do recommend popping this in the fridge for maximum freshness.
Believe it or not, Granny Nonie's original recipes include MSG, often referred to as "ajinomoto" in Asia. Modern research shows that MSG is 100% safe and, in fact, is naturally occurring in foods like cheese, tomatoes, and fish. While we don't use MSG in our Spice Kits, we've chosen to keep in our Crispy Sambal to create a super umami and extremely potent condiment. You'll understand once you try it!
